What a beautiful post. My birthday too is January (24th) and my best friend is winter. A few days after my last birthday (which was my 40th) I found my birth mother (after 20 years of searching). She passed away seven months later and these past few months have been heart breaking. It's a grief I've never known and I too have been hibernating in my shell trying desperately to heal.
